We visited The Noost just one day after it opened it’s window hatch for the very first time. Conveniently situated next to the ferry terminal at Sconser The Noost is a welcome addition to the area.
Access to The Noost
If you park in the public car park at the rear of the ferry terminal lines there are two disabled parking spaces ahead of you. From here The Noost is to your left. There are steps down to it but the old jetty is conveniently situated right next to the disabled spaces. This leads down to a side gate with a path that takes you into the garden. Being a former jetty it is a little steep so proceed carefully.
Cakes!
It is a quaint Takeaway for cakes, drinks and Mr Whippy ice creams. When the weather is as glorious as it was when we visited you can sit out and enjoy the loch side views. You place your orders at the window hatch. Melanie had carrot cake and Sarah had a caramel flapjack and both had soft drinks. They also offer takeaway if you want to grab a bite to take on the ferry with you.
The seating area surface is paving flags interspersed with gravel so navigation is tricky but not impossible by any means. Sarah managed to get about using her rollator. Back at the Ferry Terminal there are two disabled toilets which are free to use. Whether you are passing by on your way to Portree or hopping on the ferry to Raasay we recommend a pit stop at The Noost.
Looking to see if I can book a long weekend on the Island .
I was looking for a place you can stay called Noort Heuristic? A friend told me about it.
Hi, we haven’t heard of a place called Noort Heuristic and after a quick Google search there doesn’t seem to be any results for it either. Good luck with your search and sorry not to be of any help.
