There are two car parks, one off the Dunvegan Road just off the junction near the pedestrian crossing and one off Viewfield Road at the front of the school building. Both offer disabled parking spaces, there are 8 spaces in the rear car park. The one to the front is nearer the entrance but is often busier and as the outdoor facilities for the school are near here it may be difficult to find a space at certain times. The front doors are automatic doors and the library door has a push pad. I remember on one of my visits there as I headed towards the library door a helpful schoolboy pushed the pad for me so the door was open and waiting as I arrived there. Seems chivalry lives on in the Highlands.

As the library is used by the school weekdays can be busier times and it is often quieter in the evenings and on a Saturday. Sometimes on a Saturday, local charities run charity cafes in the library to raise funds serving tea, coffee and home baking.

Lift
Lift

The library consists of two floors but has a lift for disabled patrons. Staff can offer assistance with this if needed. There is also a disabled toilet here.

The main thoroughfares of the library are sufficiently roomy for wheelchairs. There are areas offering seating, some with tables. These require a bit more manoeuvring but staff are available to help if necessary.

As well as books the library has several computers available. The tables can be moved up and down to accommodate wheelchairs. The library also offers several activities and courses. Details of these are available on the You Time section of their website.
