Location of Dunvegan Bakery.

You will find the bakery at the south end of the village on the A863. If arriving from Sligachan the bakery is on your left just after the turning to Glendale. If arriving from Portree the bakery is on your right just after the Old School Restaurant. There is some parking on the roadside opposite the bakery, take care when crossing the road. To gain access to the Dunvegan Bakery you will need to be able to manage to step up two fairly large concrete steps. There is a handrail to help but it is not accessible to wheelchairs.

Baked goods

The counter is split into two sweet and savoury, both sides fully laden. Sadly for Sarah there was no vegetarian offering in the savoury side so she was a little disappointed. There is a sandwich board for different filled rolls but she really fancied something freshly baked. The sweet side was laden with what can only be described as slabs of cakes! Huge chunks of Carrot, Chocolate and Lemon Cake. We may just have come away with a few slices in a bag – oops!

Behind the counter are freshly baked loaves and rolls. Also on the sweet side of the counter are sweet pastries, muffins and biscuits. It is a very traditional bakery steeped in baking history.
