Located in Harrapool on the Isle of Skye, The Coffee Bothy is the new kid in town. Opening in March 2022 in what was formally known as New Creelers it is already a bustling coffee shop. Serving light lunches and cakes for both dine-in and takeaway it is already a hit with locals and visitors alike! Do keep an eye out for adorable Jynx who is a cheeky puppy in charge of Public, or maybe that should be Puppy Relations!

Kilmarie is a tiny wee place on Skye that most folks simply drive past on the way to Elgol. We stopped and found a walk with amazing views that is very accessible for all abilities. As a bonus when the tide is out there is a beach to be explored as well.

The walk from Penifiler to Inveralivaig is short and sweet from the township to the shores of Loch Portree. Only a short distance from Portree and relatively accessible for those with good mobility and a little bit of stamina.

The Skriaig Mast Walk is tucked away near the tiny township of Glenmore, Isle of Skye. It is a relatively straightforward and accessible walk to try. Based on a mainly tarmac surface you make progress whilst being rewarded with fantastic views all around you. From the Cuillin ridge to the MacLeod’s Tables all in one panorama. The Two Lochs Walk starts close to Broadford in the south of Skye and is yet to feature on any Ordnance Survey maps. That said it is easy to find, easily accessible and a well made track that many different abilities will find they can use.

Cafe Sia is in Broadford at the south end of the Isle of Skye. At the foot of Beinn Na Caillaich, on a clear day the views from the restaurant are amazing. Very disabled friendly and a varied menu which suits many dietary needs. Read on to see how much we enjoyed our visit.

The Dunvegan Bakery is the Oldest Bakery on Skye, baking since approximately 1870. Open all year round it is usually a bakery and cafe. Due to Covid restrictions the cafe is currently closed but the bakery remains open. Even on a dreich October day there was a queue to get in.

Located in the village of Dunvegan the Giant MacAskill Museum is a favourite place for visitors to Skye. Open Easter to October it is well worth a visit if you are passing through Dunvegan. Despite the museum being in an old thatched croft house there is plenty of space inside for wheelchairs and mobility aids.

The ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for over 800 years the castle and gardens are full of history.
