An Crubh

An Crubh, meaning The Hub was built by the local community as a meeting point. It offers a cafe, a shop selling local produce, groceries, essentials and gifts, and a Post Office. Sitting beside the main road through the Sleat Peninsula (A851) at Camus Cross, it is very accessible by car.

An Crubh is a good place to stop on the way to or from the many attractions offered by the Garden of Skye.

An Crubh has three disabled parking spaces on the right as you come up the driveway. Although it is a gravel car park these spaces have concrete paths down both sides of them leading to the front door. To the left hand side of the building is the cafe and gathering space. To the right hand side is the shop and Post Office. At the far end of the car park there is a charging point for electric vehicles.

Once inside, it is level access, spacious and has a disabled toilet.

They serve a variety of items on the menu, with Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan diets all catered for. As well as a selection of home baking and drinks. After our afternoon exploring Armadale Castle and Gardens we needed a cheeky treat. The counter was sagging under the weight of fabulous cakes so there was nothing else for it, cake it was! Melanie had a Latte and a slice of Lemon cake and Sarah had a Luxury Hot Chocolate with a slice of Salted Caramel and Spiced Apple Cake.

Food and drinks are ordered at the counter and then brought to your table. The cake portions were huge and very very tasty. Whilst you are enjoying your food the floor to ceiling windows afford you amazing views. The whole building space is very well thought out and designed.

The gathering space is through the door to the toilets. A huge space which can be opens up to adjoin the cafe. This space is hired out for a variety of activities such as yoga or craft fairs. Keep up to date on the An Crubh Facebook page for their latest events. The shop is open 7 days a week and the Post Office 6 days a week all year round. The Cafe opening hours depend on the season. Again, check their website or Facebook page for details.
